Hala Harony-Nicolas, PhD, MSc

Dr. Hala Harony-Nicolas is a translational neuroscientist with a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and 15+ years of experience in rare neurodevelopmental disorders. She completed her academic career at the Seaver Autism Center at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she rose to the position of Associate Professor. Her work focused on bridging preclinical discovery with clinical research strategy, with a strong emphasis on advancing the understanding and therapeutic development of these conditions. She is recognized for her contributions to elucidating the mechanistic underpinnings of Phelan-McDermid syndrome and autism spectrum disorders.
Dr. Harony-Nicolas brings strong expertise in scientific communication and engagement with key opinion leaders and healthcare providers, with a track record of translating complex preclinical and translational data into clear, evidence-based insights that support meaningful scientific exchange and informed clinical decision-making.
